Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower

The landmark of Paris without a doubt is the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is one of the most photographed buildings in the world and was originally built for the World’s Fair in 1889. It’s a steel tower with a staggering height of 324 meters at the time. Every tourist visiting Paris has taken at least one photo with the Eiffel Tower. For the French, the Eiffel Tower is a national symbol of France. It commemorates the hundredth anniversary of the French Revolution and was named after the builder Gustav Eiffel.

Even today, it remains the tallest building in the City of Love. The beautiful plaza it stands on is called the Champ de Mars. Incidentally, the French flag was hoisted on the Eiffel Tower by the builder himself. The construction took two years, and the grand opening in France took place on March 31, 1889. Visitors can now visit the Eiffel Tower on two levels: the second and the top level. The second level has a restaurant that’s well-known for its spectacular views. The top level of the tower can be reached by either an elevator or the stairs with 1665 steps. From up here, there is a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Paris. By the way, the Eiffel Tower is open to visitors every day from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.

Louvre

Louvre

The Louvre is one of the most visited museums. The Louvre Museum is located in the eponymous Louvre Palace, with the famous landmark of the glass pyramid at the entrance. Countless objects of art and history can be found in this attraction in Paris. The Louvre in Paris is one of the largest museums in the world and attracts millions of visitors every year.

Some of the most famous works of art in history can be seen here on a trip to Paris, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Greek statue Venus de Milo. The building itself, housed in the former palace of the kings of France, is also worth a visit.

Together with the glass pyramid in the courtyard of the museum, the Louvre is one of the most beautiful attractions in Paris for me. In Paris itself, however, there is still debate about whether the glass pyramid is beautiful or rather off-puttingly ugly.

By the way, the museum is open daily.
